Have you noticed that some ‘Two-Minute Mondays‘ videos are closer to 3 minutes? (never over, but close) Admittedly, ‘One-Minute Mondays’ seems too short to be meaningful – but ‘Three-Minute Mondays’ seems too long to try. Let’s talk about what those ‘Two Minutes’ are really supposed to be.

Have you noticed that some 2-Minute Monday videos are closer to 3 minutes? (never over, but close)
- It is harder to capture a complete thought in less than 120 seconds
- Admittedly, One-Minute Mondays seems too short to be meaningful
- but Three-Minute Mondays seems too long to try
That’s all true, but … the most important two minutes is NOT during the video; it’s after. What I hope you’ll spend 2 minutes on is reflecting and reacting.
- If we talked about buddy checks … take two minutes to check on a buddy
- if we talked about simplifying your schedule … take two minutes to look at your week, pick some meetings to get out of or block some time for you
Take two minutes to make something better.
Anytime that you are exposed to new ideas, take a moment to put it into action:
- This weekend, I had some friends enjoy an intense weekend of fellowship and introspection.
- I’ve had Scouting friends do Wood Badge … Sea Badge … or NYLT
- I’ve had Christian friends do Walk to Emmaus … Cursillo … or Kairos
Each of those amazing experiences ends by reminding you that while you may have changed, the world has not – so what are you going to do about it?
The Bible has stories of the lame being made to walk or the blind being able to see. The stories of healing are not there just to document the miracle but also to describe what those that received … did after. That’s what makes the stories teachable 2000 years later.
If you’ve ever gone on a leadership retreat or team building— the time in the room does not matter if you don’t put those new insights to work.
If all an experience does is benefit or inform you … but you don’t apply it, it was kinda wasted. Never waste an opportunity.
So, if something touches your heart or inspires your mind:
- Reflect on what you just received
- React by putting something into action
- Respond not just by clicking the like button, but add a comment
- And if something impacted you, consider resharing so that others can benefit, too.
Bottom line — take Two Minutes of your Monday to make something in your world or someone else’s a little better.
See ya next Monday
